Rev. Kathleen Splitt, Pastor

Rev. Kathleen Splitt is from Nebraska with roots in York County.  She lived at Calvin Crest Camp and Conference Center ( near Fremont, Nebraska for six years raising her three sons there.  She also worked at Highlands Presbyterian Camp and Retreat Center ( at Allenspark, Colorado for one summer while she was in seminary.

While living at Calvin Crest, Kathleen returned to college and received her Bachelor's Degree from Midland College (now Midland University) with a major in English and minors in Spanish and Vocal Music.  She then moved to Louisville Kentucky where she continued her studies and received her Master of Divinity degree with a concentration in Mission and Evangelism.  While in seminary Kathleen served as a teaching assistant for Hebrew and Greek, and as a student teacher in Old Testament studies.

Following graduation from seminary Kathleen worked as a chaplain resident at Children's Hospital Medical Center of Cincinnati, Ohio for one year.  She was ordained as Minister of Word and Sacrament on November 22,1998, having received a call to serve as the Interim Minister of a little church east of Dayton in Clifton, Ohio.

Kathleen is also a Certified Christian Educator, having completed the extensive requirements for that certification in 2005.  Christian Educators are certified by the Association of Presbyterian Church Educators (APCE) by completing required courses in Education Theory, Reformed Theology, Presbyterian Church Polity for educators, and more. The final requirement includes writing and teaching a minimum twelve hour course.

Since her first call in Ohio, Kathleen has served churches in Missouri, Minnesota, Indiana, Michigan and Nebraska. In most of the churches she has served she was a co-pastor with her husband, the Honorably Retired Rev. James (Jim) Splitt (who also has three sons).

Kathleen is delighted to be at home in Nebraska.  Though Jim had never lived in Nebraska until he came with Kathleen, he is enjoying the beautiful sunrises and sunsets, and all the beautiful scenery of our state.  He is learning to appreciate Red! and knows how to cheer on the Huskers with enthusiasm and fun.

Jim and Kathleen have six sons, two daughters-in-love/law, one grand-daughter, four step grandchildren, and one step great-grandchild, Kathleen and Jim are owned by their Wheaten Terrier, Frodo Waggins, and their Birman cat, Ashley Amariah.

You may reach Pastor Kathleen by calling her at 402-443-4220 (the church's phone) or 402-277-0165 (her cell phone).
